HUMTOO gets tested!

HUMTOO has teamed up with the Lets Get Tested Competition. It's a great idea - their blurb is...

To enter the competition you simply have to make a short film about
the importance of sexual health and the need to have regular sexual
health and HIV tests.

You can be as creative as you like but there are a few things to be aware of:

Read the rules - Please read the competition rules before making your video. If your video breaks the rules it won’t be put up on the site.
Know your stuff - There is a wealth of information provided by our partners on the links page. The more you know, the more you’ll understand the importance of testing.

Make your film – We’d like you to be as creative as you can. We don’t mind
how long your video is, who you work with or what you use to make it -
let your imagination run wild! For example, your film could be a drama,
a documentary or a cartoon. It could be 1 minute or 10 minutes, all we
ask for is an engaging video that will encourage people your age to get
tested.

Upload your film – Go to the entry page to give us a few details about yourself and upload your film. Once we’ve checked that it’s ok we’ll load it onto our site for the world to watch. Don’t be a stranger – Come back regularly to check out the competition and tell your friends to vote for your video. And of course is you have a better idea later on – you can always make another one!

How do I win?

Once you’ve entered your film into the competition we will load it on to our
site where the general public will be able to view and rate your films. When the competition closes on March 31st, the judges will consider the entries. They will be scoring each film according to the following criteria:

40%
- How relevant is the film to the competition brief? (Does the film
encourage sexual health testing and is this message conveyed clearly?)
40%
- How interesting and engaging is the film? (Based on the judges
opinion and includes the number of public views and the ranking.)
20%
- Is the film suitable for general release to a broad audience?

All the finalists will be invited to a VIP reception where the winner will be announced.

Dates for your diary:

The competition will close at midnight on 31st March 2009. Submissions after this date won’t be accepted
Date tba - We will invite the top 10 film-makers to a special reception to announce the winner of the competition.
